Monkey Business

So I was asked if I could make a cake and cupcakes for a baby shower in January. I know it's a little early, but I love to bake and wanted to practice :) The theme for the shower: monkeys. To go with the theme it was requested that I make a banana cake with cream cheese frosting. I thought I should test it out since I normally use decorative frosting. The cake was a lot more time consuming to make, but tastes AMAZING!!!

Here's the monkey image used on the invitations & the cake I baked today :)

Gobble Gobble!!!

I saw these turkey cupcakes and just had to make them. I think they turned out super cute!!! They may not be pumpkin pie, but I think they'll take the cake ;)

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Butterfly Cupcakes

Hey again :)

So, I had some free time today and decided to make some cupcakes that I've been wanting to try out. I had to make them before it snowed since they're such a summery design. It was so fun making all of the butterflies out of chocolate!!! They're probably my coolest cupcakes yet, and they're even prettier in person! Can't wait to make them again next spring!!!

Frost ya later,

Diana :)

Oreo Cupcakes

We recently had a bake sale at work to raise money for United Way. Considering that I love to bake, I thought it was a great opportunity to try out a new recipe. Oreo cupcakes! Each with a half an Oreo at the bottom, Oreo pieces in the batter, and half an Oreo as garnish. They were delicious and I was told they sold pretty fast :)

Audio Cupcakes

Hey guys!

Made up some birthday cupcakes for the Audio Editor at work. They're not too fancy, but still pretty cute :) I thought the headphones, audio waveforms and music notes would suit him great :) I'll be baking again later this week and will be posting again soon.

Frost ya later ;)

Ready to bake!!!

Open for business ;)

Hey there everyone. Not sure if you've all seen or tasted my cakes, but they're pretty good (or so I've been told :)). Anyhow, I've always been a big fan of baking and more recently I took a cake decorating class. I really enjoy baking/decorating and thought it'd be a fun thing to do on the side :) A friend gave me the idea to start a blog and I'm running with that idea ;) So, I'll be posting some pictures of the cakes I've done in the last few months. If you, or anyone you know, need a cake, I'd love to make it.  Spread the word :)

I'm not yet at the wedding cake level ;) but plan on taking the fondant class soon. Once I do, I'll let you know and post some pictures of my practice cakes.

Eat it too ;)
